Roles play an important part in CompanyMood. While administrators can view all areas and results, department managers can only see their own department and directly subordinate departments. This hierarchy applies to all visible results and reports.
The following rules apply to all roles:
- Roles can be assigned during the invitation process or changed later under: Administration → Employees → Actions
- To hold multiple roles, separate email addresses are required
- For the department manager role, a separate evaluation can be activated (manager feedback)
Administrator
The Administrator (Admin) role has full access to all features on the platform. An admin can invite employees, view billing information, export reports, and change roles. The Admin role is typically assigned to HR, executive management, or leadership.
Supervisor
The Supervisor role is suitable for individuals who should not participate in mood ratings but still need an overview of all data (e.g., external consultants, executives, analysts). Supervisors receive the full company report and have all available permissions. Because supervisors do not participate in ratings, the participation rate is not affected.
Department Manager
The Department Manager role is for team leads and managers responsible for a department or organizational unit. A department manager receives reports for their assigned department and can view the department’s feedback. Any number of department managers can be defined for a department.
Team Lead
Team leads can view their team’s mood data in the main menu under Statistics. Team leads receive no additional permissions and no separate reports. Only viewing team mood is additionally available to them online.
Employee
The Employee role enables participation in the regular mood rating and any surveys. The Message Box is available at any time and can be used anonymously or with attribution.
Employees see their dashboard after logging in. Unless configured otherwise, employees see the average mood and the top 5 topics in their own department.
Changing or Assigning Roles
A role can be assigned during the employee invitation process or in employee management. To change an existing role, go to employee management and use the Actions → Change Role button. Role changes can only be performed by admins or supervisors.
Visibility of Results — Who Sees What?
Administrators and supervisors see the results of the entire company on their dashboard. They can also switch the view to see the employee perspective.
